Summer Road Construction
Thursday, June 10th, 2010
This year the City of West Des Moines is working on the expansion of the Southwest Connector. As a result the Southwest Connector Route will be closed for the summer. However, the Highway 28 exit will still be open as usual. Please note that you will need to disregard the road closed sign as you drive by the Willow Creek Golf Course. See the map below for an alternate route if you are coming from the West.
Acts 2:42 Groups

WHAT ARE ACTS 2:42 GROUPS?
Community groups are the basic units for Christian fellowship, connection, care, and discipleship at The Creek. In keeping with the pattern of the early church, these groups meet in homes and serve as a compliment to our corporate worship on Sundays. Our desire is to see people deepen their love for God as they develop authentic, love-driven relationships with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ
WHEN DO THEY MEET?
Our community groups run in a cycle we like to call, “3 tens and a break.” We offer 10-week long small group sessions in the fall, winter, and spring with breaks between each session. During the summer, the groups do not meet. In order to participate in a community group, you must sign up at the beginning of a 10-week session. We offer a directory of groups, and you can choose an appropriate group, provided there is room in the group. We offer groups on the basis of geography, stage of life, and interest. If you desire to plug into a group during one of the 10-week sessions, every 5 weeks we start a “trial” group, which lets you experience our small group format. After the trial group, you are free to sign up for a regularly meeting group before the next 10-week session begins.
WHAT DO YOU STUDY?
One of the major FAQ’s relates to curriculum. The curriculum is the sermons from the previous Sunday service. We believe this is one of the strengths of our program. This allows you to dig deeper into the teaching from Sundays. Additionally, you have the valuable experience of applying the message to life situations in the context of a small group of fellow believers.
Sunday morning services are centerpiece of our ministry. Because our groups supplement and support our Sunday services it is critically important to get plugged into a group! So, how do you get connected to an Acts 2:42 community group ?
HOW DO I GET CONNECTED?
We encourage you to get on “The City” (our church communication software) and we can help you from there to get connected to a group that would best suite your needs.
To get on the city please send an email to: thecity@willowcreekbaptistchurch.com. In the email please indicate your interest in the Act 2:42 groups.
Wednesday Night Modules
Saturday, December 12th, 2009
Do you want to know more about the Bible? Are you interested in learning about topics like marriage, apologetics, theology or a myriad of others? At The Creek, we are committed to helping you build your life upon God’s life-changing Word. With this in mind, we have instituted Willow Creek University. It is a mid-week program that explores the Bible and Christianity from various topical points of view. The program meets at the church on Wednesday evenings at 6:45 pm. Running concurrently with the University is a children’s program called AWANA. Full childcare is available for every age. The classes rotate and change every 12 weeks, and sometimes on a 6-week cycle. Click Here to sign up today.

What is “The City?”
The City is The Creek’s online network. Rather than encouraging virtual community, the purpose of The City is to enhance actual relationships within the church. Community groups use The City to share prayer requests, announce upcoming events, as well as general communication within the group.” Any group you serve or share community with you will find that community on The City. The City is open to anyone who attends The Creek. In addition to joining a community group, participating on The City is one of the primary ways we encourage people to connect with the The Creek family.
Again join The City, please send an email to thecity@willowcreekbaptistchurch.com or stop by the info desk at The Creek.
How do I learn about joining The Creek?
The first step to joining The Creek is signing up for a Meet the Creek Class. You can sign up on any given Sunday in the bulletin or click here to sign up now.
Why is your road not paved?
The road leading to The Creek is actually a service road that will one day be a public street named South 8th Street. Once the land around us is commercially developed it will be paved.
